How Midi Health Works

Midi Health makes specialized women’s health care available through virtual visits. The service connects you with clinicians trained in women’s midlife health who take time to understand your symptoms, health history, and goals before creating a personalized Care Plan.

From your first virtual visit through ongoing follow-up, the process is designed to make care more convenient, personalized, and easier to fit into everyday life.

How Midi Health Works

What Is Midi Health?

Midi Health is a virtual healthcare clinic focused on women’s health, including perimenopause, menopause, weight management, and other health concerns that commonly affect women during midlife.

Its clinical team includes physicians and advanced practice clinicians trained in women’s midlife health. Care may include prescription treatments, supplements and botanicals, lifestyle guidance, laboratory testing, and referrals for in-person care when needed.

How Does Midi Health Work?

Midi follows a straightforward four-step process:

  1. Book a virtual visit

  2. Meet your Midi clinician

  3. Get your personalized Care Plan

  4. Track your progress

Your care is based on your individual symptoms, health history, lifestyle, and treatment preferences rather than a one-size-fits-all approach.

1. Book Your Virtual Visit

Getting started with Midi is simple. You can book a virtual visit online and check whether your insurance plan is accepted.

During registration, you provide information about your insurance and complete the required health information and questionnaire. This gives your clinician important background before your appointment.

Midi is in-network with most major insurance plans, although coverage, copays, deductibles, and coinsurance vary by plan. Self-pay options are also available.

Complete Your Health Questionnaire

Before your first appointment, you will provide information about your symptoms, medical history, medications, and health concerns. This helps your clinician understand what you are experiencing and prepare for your visit.

2. Meet Your Midi Clinician

Your virtual appointment gives you time to discuss what has been happening with your health.

You can talk about symptoms, changes you have noticed, your medical history, current treatments, and the health goals that matter most to you.

Midi says initial virtual visits are typically 30 minutes, while follow-up visits are typically 15 minutes.

Your clinician may ask questions about several areas of your health rather than looking at one symptom in isolation. This can help identify patterns and determine which treatment options may be appropriate.

What Can You Discuss During a Midi Visit?

Depending on your needs, your visit may cover concerns such as:

  • Hot flashes and night sweats

  • Irregular periods

  • Sleep problems and insomnia

  • Brain fog and forgetfulness

  • Mood changes

  • Low energy

  • Weight changes

  • Low sex drive and vaginal dryness

  • Hair loss or excess hair growth

  • Skin changes

  • Bone, muscle, and joint concerns

  • Hormonal and reproductive health

  • Heart and metabolic health

Midi also provides care related to general health, perimenopause, menopause, weight, longevity, and cancer and survivorship.

3. Get Your Personalized Care Plan

Your Care Plan is based on your symptoms, medical history, lifestyle, and treatment preferences.

Rather than automatically recommending one treatment, your clinician discusses appropriate options with you and makes treatment decisions together based on your individual needs.

Your Care Plan may include:

Hormone Prescriptions

When appropriate, your clinician may prescribe hormone treatment for symptoms related to perimenopause or menopause. Available treatment forms can vary depending on your needs and medical history.

Non-Hormonal Prescriptions

Non-hormonal medications may be recommended when appropriate for certain symptoms or health concerns. Your clinician can explain the potential benefits, risks, and alternatives.

Supplements and Botanicals

Midi’s Care Plans may also include targeted supplements or botanical products when they are appropriate for your needs.

Lifestyle Guidance

Your care may include recommendations related to nutrition, exercise, sleep, stress management, and other lifestyle factors.

The goal is to combine appropriate treatment options around your individual symptoms rather than treating every patient the same way.

4. Get the Tests You Need

When additional information is needed, your Midi clinician may order laboratory testing or imaging.

Midi’s current information lists examples such as metabolic panels, thyroid testing, and insulin-sensitivity markers. Testing is used when clinically appropriate to help your clinician better understand your health and guide your Care Plan.

Midi can also refer you for in-person testing or care when something cannot be appropriately handled through virtual care.

5. Track Your Progress

Your relationship with Midi does not necessarily end after your first appointment.

Follow-up visits allow you to discuss your progress with your clinician, review relevant results, and make changes to your Care Plan when needed.

Midi describes follow-up care as an ongoing process where you can check in on what is working and adjust what is not.

What Treatments Can Midi Health Provide?

Depending on your individual situation, Midi’s approach may combine several types of care.

Prescription Treatments

Prescription treatment may be considered when clinically appropriate, including hormone and non-hormonal medications.

Supplements and Botanicals

Targeted supplements and botanical products may be included as part of a personalized approach when appropriate.

Lifestyle Support

Your clinician may provide guidance around nutrition, physical activity, sleep, stress, and other lifestyle factors.

Testing and Diagnostics

Laboratory testing and other diagnostics may be recommended when they can help inform your care.

The specific treatments you receive depend on your health history, symptoms, risks, and treatment goals.

Why Does Midi Use Virtual Care?

Midi’s model allows women to meet with specialized clinicians without traveling to a traditional medical office.

Virtual care can make appointments easier to fit into your schedule and allows you to speak with your clinician from a private location. Midi can also coordinate testing through local facilities when laboratory or imaging services are needed.

Virtual care does not replace every type of medical service. If you need an examination, procedure, or other in-person treatment, Midi can refer you to your regular doctor or an appropriate local specialist.

Does Midi Health Take Insurance?

Yes. Midi states that it is in-network with most major insurance plans, particularly most PPO plans. However, being in-network does not mean every service is free.

Your actual cost can depend on your insurance plan’s deductible, copay, coinsurance, and other benefits. Midi recommends checking your specific coverage before booking.

Can You Use Midi Without Insurance?

Self-pay options are available.

Midi currently lists a $250 self-pay initial visit and a $150 self-pay continued-care visit. Insurance-covered patients have costs determined by their individual plan.

Does Midi Charge a Membership Fee?

Midi currently states that there are no hidden subscription fees. Its care is billed through insurance when applicable, while self-pay visits are available for eligible patients.

Can You Use an HSA or FSA?

Midi states that HSA or FSA funds can be used to pay for Midi visits and services. Eligibility and account rules can vary, so patients should confirm their specific situation with their plan administrator.

Does Midi Accept Medicare or Medicaid?

Midi’s current insurance information says it is not a participating provider with Medicaid or Medi-Cal and cannot currently treat Medicaid or Medi-Cal patients, including as self-pay patients.

Midi is also not covered by Medicare or Medicare-related insurance plans. Medicare beneficiaries can use Midi as self-pay, but they cannot submit claims for Midi visits, medications, or associated services.

What Happens If You Need In-Person Care?

Midi is designed for virtual care, but not every health concern can be managed online.

When an in-person examination, procedure, imaging service, or specialist is needed, Midi can refer you to your regular healthcare provider or another appropriate in-person professional.

Midi can also share your Care Plan and test results so your other healthcare providers can stay informed about your care.

Who Provides Care at Midi Health?

Midi’s care is provided by clinicians trained in women’s midlife health, including physicians and advanced practice clinicians.

The focus is on understanding the patient’s symptoms, health history, and goals before developing an individualized Care Plan.

Is Midi Health Only for Menopause?

No. Although perimenopause and menopause are major areas of care, Midi currently provides support for a broader range of women’s health and midlife concerns.

Its current care areas include general health, perimenopause, menopause, weight, AgeWell/longevity, and cancer and survivorship.

What Should You Prepare for Your First Visit?

A little preparation can help you get more from your appointment.

Before your visit, consider having:

  • Your current medications and supplements

  • A list of symptoms and when they started

  • Relevant medical history

  • Recent test results, if available

  • Your main questions and health goals

  • Your insurance information

Choose a private location with a reliable internet connection for your virtual appointment.

What Makes Midi Health Different?

Midi focuses specifically on women’s health and midlife care rather than treating women’s symptoms as isolated concerns.

Its approach combines specialized clinicians, virtual visits, personalized treatment plans, testing when appropriate, and continued follow-up. This allows your care plan to change as your symptoms and needs change.

A Simple Path to Personalized Women’s Health Care

Midi Health’s process is designed to keep getting care straightforward: book a virtual visit, talk with a specialized clinician, create a personalized Care Plan, and continue tracking your progress.

Whether you are dealing with hot flashes, sleep problems, weight changes, brain fog, mood changes, or other midlife health concerns, the first step is understanding what is happening and finding care that fits your individual needs.
